Rive Interactive Rig

Time traveling slider

Rive promotes state-driven animation, where artwork responds to user interactions instead of playing a rigid timeline. I wanted to know what that actually takes: the learning curve, the real capabilities, and developer hand-off.

Because Rive's character rigging mirrors 3-D rig setups, the mental model felt familiar.

Sliders obviously move backward and forward. So my thinking immediately went to time travel and Back to the Future. The character's likeness and current day wardrobe were inspired by a friend.

Drag the slider on the card. Keyboard users can tab to the time control and use the arrow keys.
